WI Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Lake Superior Community Health Center (LSCHC) is seeking a WI Substance Use Disorder Counselor at the Superior, WI office. The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will provide direct outpatient substance use disorder counseling and support to individuals experiencing addiction. The counselor will provide individual and group addiction counseling and will also be responsible for working with and providing education to a diverse population of individuals and groups within the community. This person will have working relationships and be familiar with other service providers and community resources and will be able to provide information and support to best meet client need.

• Pay range: $44,000-$53,240.00

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide assessments, treatment planning, treatment, discharge planning and
• Interviews clients, reviews records, and confers with other professionals to evaluate the condition of the client.
• Formulates a program for treatment and rehabilitation of
• Counsels clients individually and in group
• Refers clients to other support services as needed such other clinic services or Patient Service Coordinator for community
• Monitors condition of client to evaluate success of therapy, and adapts treatment as
• Completes documentation professionally and in a timely
• Ability to administer therapeutic treatment by telephonic/ telehealth methodologies as indicated by patient needs and state
• Knowledge of or ability to learn processes of medication assisted treatment

Typical Working Conditions:

• Exposure to infection disease and potential high-risk social situations
• Basic computer skills and office equipment used
