Contract: Travel/Contract Position Overview

Jefferson County Health Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive patient care in the Emergency Room. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice.

The RN will provide patient education, coordinate care with the healthcare team, and direct or guide ancillary personnel as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and identify physical, psychosocial, and other healthcare needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient emergency nursing care.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility policies.
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate significant changes to healthcare providers.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the care process.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel while maintaining accountability for patient care.
• Prioritize care effectively in a fast-paced Emergency Room environment.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Iowa RN License required.
• BLS/BCLS required.
• ACLS required American Heart Association.
• PALS required.
• TNCC required.
• Previous ER experience is preferred but not required .
