Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years in Medical Surgical nursing, Trauma level experience preferred License: Michigan nursing license required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Straight Medical Surgical experience - Trauma level experience Description: Client has implemented a strict attendance policy to advocate for its patient population. RNs who are absent from a scheduled shift or are more than 20 minutes late for their scheduled shift three times will be terminated immediately. Supportive evidence for situations such as communicable diseases or hospitalization will be reviewed favorably. This policy will begin on June 1, 2024. The Medical Surgical Unit has a diverse patient population consisting of general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and is the stroke unit. It is a challenging and fast-paced environment with great learning opportunities for both graduate and experienced nurses. Nursing in this unit is patient-centered and focused on patient safety and quality care for positive patient outcomes. Every team member's contribution toward providing excellent, evidence-based, and holistic patient care is valued. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized written plans of care based on assessments. Seek lifelong learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review. Demonstrate leadership by sharing knowledge and being a clinical resource and professional role model. Show effective communication through collegial relationships and interdisciplinary communication. Exhibit enhanced time management skills and assist others to contribute to overall team performance. Perform other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed by general and unit-specific objectives. A skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties is required. Physical copies of certifications are only required if listed above. Full-time employees are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.
