The Plum Borough School District is seeking a skilled, hands-on leader to serve as its Facilities Manager . This position oversees daily custodial, grounds, maintenance, supply, and logistics operations to ensure District facilities are safe, clean, well-maintained, and responsive to the needs of students, staff, and the community. The ideal candidate is a flexible problem-solver who communicates effectively, builds positive relationships, and works alongside others to find practical solutions to evolving facility needs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and support custodial, grounds, maintenance, and supply staff through clear communication, shared accountability, and teamwork.
• Oversee daily cleaning, groundskeeping, minor maintenance, and facility upkeep while adapting to changing priorities and needs.
• Manage staff schedules, supplies, inventory, and operational needs while balancing effective operations with staff well-being.
• Identify facility challenges, evaluate options, and implement timely, practical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and District safety requirements.
• Coordinate safety training and respond calmly and effectively to facility-related emergencies.
• Collaborate with the Director of Facilities and Grounds, staff, and District stakeholders on projects and long-term facility priorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two (2) years of related facilities, custodial, grounds, or maintenance experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build positive working relationships and effectively respond to changing operational needs.
• Supervisory experience and related technical training preferred.

Required Certifications (or willing to acquire upon hire)

• Certified Pool Operator (CPO ).
• Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator Certification, Category 24.
• OSHA 501 with Trainer Certification.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements
