Maintenance (MAINT) / Craft Workers

404 Elkins Road, Nordman, Idaho, 83848, UNITED STATES The purpose of this position is to maintain the appearance, safety and effectiveness of the resort. Dress Code Due to the nature of Maintenance work at Elkins Resort and the necessity of your safety, the resort requires all employees working a maintenance shift to have a uniform, gloves, safety glasses, rain gear, weather appropriate attire and closed toed shoes. Removal of all trash around resort. This includes “V”, lodge, parking lot, front lawn, boat ramp, trails, cabins, etc. Care of all flowers around lodge dock and front lawn area. Upkeep of flower pots. Water front lawn and all other lawn areas around resort. Sweep, shovel and clear all resort walk ways. Keep resort facilities and equipment in working order. Daily upkeep of beaches. Bring firewood to restaurant, cabins and designated areas for beach fires. Check with manager for specific duties and daily tasks. Always check with a manager before punching out for breaks, lunch and end of shift. Be familiar with Elkins Resort and where supplies are located. Guests will ask you questions about the area. If you are able to help them, please do! If not, help find someone who can provide them with the information they are searching for. Opening Duties Clock in at your scheduled time and get a radio or turn on cell phone. If there is no one on marina duty- open the gas dock. Remove all trash from V, rake V, stack crates and breakdown boxes. Pick up all trash around the lodge, parking lot, front lawn, boat ramp, trails, remove all garbage from all lodge entrances, empty all ashtrays, dock and doggie stations as well as all beach cans. Cardboard to backside of burn pile, Flattened! Water lawn and all flowers around lodge, dock and front lawn area. Empty walk-in condenser bucket. Drain air compressor of water. Clean air conditioner filters. Sweep, shovel and clear sidewalks and walkways. Take outgoing mail to the mail box by 10 am on weekdays, and noon on Saturdays. Pick up mail by 2pm. Review cabin list for the day to see the cabin arrivals and departures. Check with manager to see what needs be done for the day. Closing Duties Empty all contents out of the truck bed and return to proper locations. Park truck away from lodge and make sure cab is cleaned out. Shovel, snow blow, sand and clear all walkways and entrances if needed. Close the gas pump and marina. Collect all garbage and boxes from view of lodge area; especially on delivery days and weekends. Stock wood and fire starters in lodge and cabins that are arriving or are a stay-over. Double check cabin list for the day to see cabin arrivals and departures. Make sure garbage was picked up, heat was turned on, and wood & fire starters were delivered. Clean shop so it can be used the next day. Check with department heads to see if any new cabins are coming in or any last minute problems have come up. Return your radio to front desk, if applicable, and clock out.
