Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Operating Room (OR) RN to provide specialized perioperative nursing care in a trauma center environment. The successful candidate will support surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and prepare patients for surgical procedures, ensuring all preoperative protocols are followed.
• Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during operative tasks with proficiency.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to intraoperative changes.
• Adhere to infection control standards and AORN guidelines to maintain a sterile environment.
• Manage postoperative care, including patient stabilization and recovery protocols.
• Document all perioperative activities accurately and thoroughly.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current licensure.
• Proven OR RN experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers.
• Familiarity with AORN standards and surgical nursing best practices.
• Ability to work flexible scheduling, including weekdays and weekends on call.
• Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills.
• Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred.
