Real Estate Associate Attorney

Our client is a well-established California law firm with a nationally recognized practice focused on affordable housing, community development, and public-sector real estate projects. The firm advises nonprofit organizations, mission-driven developers, housing authorities, and public agencies on complex transactions that support the development and preservation of affordable housing.

This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated real estate matters with a meaningful community impact. Representative matters include real estate acquisitions and dispositions, project financing, ownership and entity structuring, regulatory compliance, public-private partnerships, and transactions involving government funding and subsidy programs.

The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of transactional real estate experience , with exposure to affordable housing, community development, public agency work, real estate finance, joint ventures, or related disciplines. Candidates should be comfortable managing significant portions of transactions, including drafting and negotiating agreements, coordinating due diligence, and supporting closings.

This opportunity is particularly well suited for attorneys seeking a more mission-driven practice, including those coming from traditional real estate firms, municipal law environments, or public-sector positions. The firm offers sophisticated, high-level legal work within a collaborative culture that values teamwork over individual origination. A book of business is not required.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of transactional real estate experience
• Experience with real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, or development transactions
• Affordable housing, community development, public finance, or public agency experience is a plus
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California
