Position Summary The Vascular Sonographer performs routine, critical care, and diagnostic procedures as ordered by the Physician. They conduct basic equipment maintenance and quality control measures, report abnormal findings to the physician when immediate attention is required, and handle other administrative, technical, or supervisory tasks as needed. They apply appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure, following all established Ultrasound, Radiology, and Hospital Policies and Procedures. They are proficient in exams within and outside of the Department. Qualifications Education A single two‑year allied health education program that is patient‑care related (e.g., diagnostic medical sonographer, radiologic technologist, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, or registered nurse) OR a graduate of a program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), United States Department of Education (USDOE) or Canadian Medical Association (CMA) that specifically conducts programmatic accreditation for diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology. Minimum one year experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer. Experience One year of experience performing sonography.
