Casual Field Service Engineer

Field Service Engineer (FSE AOV or FSE MOV) Reports To: Test Supervisor, Shift Coordinator or Project Manager. Overview Responsible for the performance of AOV or MOV diagnostic testing, data acquisition, AOV or MOV actuator set‑up, instrument calibrations, and diagnostic signature analysis. May perform additional technician duties for AOV or MOV. Seasonal contract position. Responsibilities Perform all duties safely and in accordance with customer or CRANE procedures. Conduct AOV or MOV diagnostic testing and data acquisition. Set up and adjust AOV or MOV actuators. Perform instrument calibrations (e.g., I/P and positioners). Analyze AOV or MOV diagnostic signatures. Complete duties of predecessor titles such as AOV FST, AOV I&C, Valve Technician, MOV FST or MOV Actuator Tech as required. Perform diagnostic testing in radiological and non‑radiological environments. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED plus 520 hours direct experience as an AOV Diagnostic Test Technician, OR Associate or Bachelor's degree plus 260 hours direct experience, OR Crane’s Accelerated Development Program. Strong commitment to safety and excellent attendance. Strong communication skills. Previous management training or experience. Mechanical or electrical knowledge a plus. Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements and continuous improvement. Ability to work in teams and communicate effectively. Meet certification and qualification requirements per CRANE Nuclear QAP‑2.0: AOV ASA Training or Challenge, AOV ASA Exam (TM‑36 or 53), AOV ASATPE, and AOV Test Technician Certified. Motor Operated Valve (MOV) Qualifications High School Diploma/GED plus 520 hours direct experience as an MOV Diagnostic Test Technician, OR Associate Degree plus 260 hours direct experience, OR Crane’s Accelerated Development Program. Strong commitment to safety, communication, and team collaboration. Mechanical or electrical knowledge a plus. Certification requirements per CRANE Nuclear QAP‑2.0: MOV ASA Training or Challenge, MOV ASA Exam (TM‑38 or 49), and MOV ASATPE. Physical Requirements Work 12‑hour rotating shifts, up to 72 hours per week. Travel up to 80% of time, including domestic work orders. Lift 50 lbs without assistance. Stand or walk for extended periods (4–6 hours). Work in a clean, safe, orderly environment. Climb, balance, and work at heights from platforms, scaffolding, or ladders. Use fall protection as required. Work in extreme heat (>100°F) within OSHA guidelines. Work in confined spaces. Carry, grip, and work with hand tools.
