Property Controller

Accountants One is working with a well-established Real Estate Company looking for a Property Controller to add to the team due to the growth of the company. This person will report to the VP of Accounting and will have a team to manage. This is a hybrid position and the candidate will need to sit in Atlanta, but the company will assist with relocation for the right candidate. Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr Responsibilities: Help with the onboarding of new properties and offboarding of outgoing properties. Will work closely with the VP to make sure everything runs smoothly for both processes. Assist the Vice President with planning accountant assignments, and help accountants coordinate onboarding of new properties. Oversee the scheduling, planning, and communication process for the month-end close process. Anticipate and address potential issues during the close process. Ensure consistency of accounting processes and procedures across all properties. Involved with identifying the need for process improvements, controls to mitigate risk and training opportunities for the team. Monitor the progress of daily close status on a daily basis for properties. Communicate results to the VP of Accounting, clients, and Operations. Ensure direct and indirect reports are properly equipped and informed to perform their job. Interpret results of operations and the financial position of the company and how to communicate these results with various clients and operations staff. Oversee the company’s participation in property-level annual audit procedures. Provide direct support to team leaders, offering backup and direction as needed. Mentor, train and develop staff. Oversee the execution of performance-improvement-plans when necessary. Assist with hiring needs for the group. Assist with any special projects.
