Work Environment

This full-time role is located onsite in our outpatient office, where our team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and administrative personnel work closely together in a friendly yet professional atmosphere. Our clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation technologies and a variety of therapeutic equipment essential for facilitating effective treatment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a consistent work-life balance that fosters personal and professional well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments of patients to evaluate their physical limitations, functional abilities, and mobility issues, allowing for the creation of tailored treatment plans.
• Implement individualized exercise regimens and therapeutic interventions designed to enhance strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and endurance.
• Guide patients in relearning safe and efficient walking techniques, utilizing targeted exercises to improve their gait post-injury or surgery.
• Develop and educate patients and their caregivers on strategies to prevent falls, assessing home environments for potential hazards to ensure safety.
• Administer pulmonary rehabilitation programs that aid patients with respiratory issues, focusing on enhancing their breathing capabilities and overall physical endurance.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses and occupational therapists, to create cohesive and comprehensive treatment strategies for each patient.
• Assist patients in enhancing their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) through practical training and supportive supervision.
• Incorporate cognitive rehabilitation techniques into treatment sessions to support patients in maintaining or improving mental function.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with a diverse patient demographic, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, sports injuries, and chronic pain issues. Our therapeutic approach is holistic, targeting not only the physical aspects of rehabilitation but also addressing patients' psychological and emotional needs comprehensively.

Qualifications

• A valid Physical Therapy license in the state of New York is mandatory.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of establishing rapport with patients and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
• A proven ability to devise and implement patient-specific treatment plans that are both effective and compassionate.
• A passion for patient care, with a commitment to helping individuals achieve meaningful recovery.
• A proficient ability to work independently while also thriving in a team-oriented setting.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of clinical experience, ideally in an outpatient setting or skilled nursing facility, is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
