About this position: ERP Test Engineer                                     Location – Remote

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Database-Layer Systems Engineering & TDD Strategy (Immediate Focus)

• Serve as the primary technical authority for evaluating contractor-delivered MilPDS Oracle database code, PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, triggers, views, and schema updates.
• Analyze legacy, non-TDD contractor code deliverables and design a technical roadmap to transition the program to a Test-Driven Development model at the database layer (covering both outer-loop acceptance and inner-loop unit test strategies).
• Architect strategies to extract embedded business rules out of legacy user interface layers and triggers into modular, independently testable database APIs.
• Write production-grade database test routines and automated unit/integration test suites (e.g., using utPLSQL or database-native frameworks) to independently validate contractor deliverables and maintain transactional isolation.
• Architect patterns to isolate component-divergent business rules (e.g., Active, Reserve, Guard variants) and prevent cross-component rule regression.
• Develop automated scripts and data factory utilities for synthetic test data generation, database state resets, and environment staging to ensure repeatable, isolated, and fully unattended test execution.

Automated Pipeline Integration, Data Hygiene & Release Gating (Near-Term Focus)

• Architect, build, and integrate automated database test suites and database version control (Schema-as-Code) directly into the program's emerging CI/CD pipeline.
• Establish automated Cross-System Traceability Daemons within the pipeline to programmatically scan for and reconcile developer-found defects (siloed as JIRA Spikes) with the authoritative system of record (ALM Octane) after code promotion, securing CPAR data hygiene metrics.
• Integrate background execution recorders to capture API transaction traffic, clickstreams, and database queries during unscripted/exploratory testing runs, programmatically converting them into structured, repeatable test assets and code templates.
• Establish automated Test Readiness Review (TRR) technical gates within the pipeline, preventing code migration unless automated database checks, least-privilege security validation, and compliance evidence requirements are met.

Persistent WDP AI Architecture & Advanced Automation/Agentic Workflows (Future Focus)

• Design and implement data schemas, metadata catalogs (Collibra), and Python-based Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) databases on WDP Databricks to sustain a persistent, multi-session context model.
• Engineer a secure conversational interface using GenAI.mil hooks, enabling senior leadership to query live release readiness (e.g., 'Is Release 7.1 ready?') and receive real-time, mathematically proven quality validations.
• Research, architect, and deploy autonomous or semi-autonomous agentic workflows to automate test case generation, failure log analysis, continuous database test monitoring, and test asset generation.
• Design and implement an automated feedback loop that ingests production anomaly logs, executes rapid root-cause analysis, and programmatically feeds findings back to the database test-suite generation engine to continuously harden pre-release gates.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

• Education Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a relevant field.
• 5–10 years of experience in database engineering, software quality engineering, or test automation, including Oracle PL/SQL development.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices at the database or application layer.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have or be able to attain a SECRET security clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• Deep knowledge of Oracle database architecture, PL/SQL, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, schema-as-code practices, and automated release/compliance gating.
• Working knowledge of Databricks, metadata cataloging tools (e.g., Collibra), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Familiarity with agentic and generative AI workflow design, including secure conversational query interfaces.
• Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complex technical concepts to management and other IT development partners.

Preferred

• Experience with utPLSQL or other database-native automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with Databricks, RAG-based architectures, or agentic AI workflow development.
• Agile development experience.
• Active SECRET security clearance.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

This job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. Typical work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. (Central Time). This job may require additional hours. Work hours may change at Management's discretion with or without prior notice.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
