Production Planner

Position DescriptionOrganizes, coordinates and schedules efficient, cost effective and timely production of manufactured products. Supports business unit through maintenance and analysis of cost data to ascertain variances and prepare reports.Job ResponsibilitiesManages the Production Control database administration and monitoring of production reporting to ensure accuracySchedules manufactured finished goods and special ordersAssists with design, development and maintenance of programs for information sharing between manufacturing, engineering, purchasing and salesParticipates in the continual development of methods for improving scheduling procedures, increasing productivity and realizing cost reduction opportunitiesClassifies labor, material and overhead costs to compute the unit cost of product or serviceRecords cost data for use by management in controlling expendituresConducts and analyzes audits of costs and prepares reports; compiles cost data for preparation of operating budgetsAnalyzes actual costs vs. standard costs and prepares reports of variancesPrepares estimates of new or proposed product costsPerforms other duties as assignedJob Skills RequirementsComprehensive experience with financial analysis, cost accounting and auditing.Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and MRP software (SAP).Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact with multiple departments throughout the organization (Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales).Solid organizational skills and the ability to exercise judgment while handling multiple prioritiesGood written and verbal communication skillsFluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or locationEducationBachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent education and experienceExperience RequirementsMinimum of 3 years related experiencePhysical & Environmental RequirementsBriggs & Stratton, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provides innovative products and diverse power solutions to help people get work done.
