With operations in New York, South Carolina, and Canada, our fundamental belief has been to provide unparalleled service to all while maintaining our values of honesty and integrity both on land and sea./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ulliOperate heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport bulk materials such as aggregates, scrap, or cargo./liliAssist with vessel operations, including material handling and staging/liliOperate various pieces of heavy equipment including Excavator, Dozer, Loaders, Telehandler, Large Fork/liliOperate Haul Truck to efficiently transport bulk materials to Carver storage facilities/liliPerform daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns./liliMaintain clean and organized work areas, including docks, yards, and storage zones./liliFollow all safety protocols and operational procedures in compliance with OSHA and port regulations./liliCommunicate with supervisors, crane operators, and ground personnel to coordinate movements./liliAssist with minor equipment maintenance such as greasing, fueling, and fluid checks./liliSupport other terminal operations as needed, including general labor or cleanup tasks./liliPerform manual labor when necessary to support mission completion./liliAdhere to all company policies and actively support new hires in following them./liliImmediately report any damage to vessels, vehicles, equipment, or property./liliOperate all equipment in a responsible, safe, and organized manner to maintain operational readiness and efficiency./liliCarry out additional tasks as directed by management to ensure safe and efficient mission completion./li/ulh3Required Qualifications/h3ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent./lili3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial or construction setting./liliValid drivers license and reliable transportation./liliAbility to operate at least two types of equipment (e.g., loader, forklift, excavator)./liliStrong understanding of equipment safety and maintenance practices./li/ulh3Preferred Qualifications/h3ulliExperience working in a port, terminal, or marine environment./liliOSHA 10 or 30 certification./liliTWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) or ability to obtain one./liliFamiliarity with bulk material handling and vessel loading procedures./li/ulh3Physical Requirements/h3ulliAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds./liliFrequent standing, walking, climbing, and operating equipment in outdoor conditions./liliAbility to work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow./liliUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety boots, gloves, and high-visibility clothing./li/ulh3Work Environment/h3ulliOutdoor port and terminal environment with exposure to weather, noise, dust, and heavy machinery./liliFast-paced, safety-sensitive setting requiring coordination with marine crews, yard staff, and equipment operators./liliMay involve shift work, extended hours, or weekend operations based on vessel schedules./li/ulh3Additional Requirements/h3ulliMust be authorized to work in the United States./liliEmployment in this role may be contingent upon the successful completion of certain pre-employment requirements, which could include a background check, drug screen, or driving record review, depending on the position/li/ulpPay range: $24 - $28/hr/ph3What We Offer/h3ulliPaid Time Off/liliComprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance/liliAdditional Coverage Through AFLAC/liliCompany Paid Holidays/lili401(k) with an 8% Match/liliShort Term, Long Term Disability/liliGroup Life Insurance/liliEmployee Assistance Fund/liliEmergency Service Worker bonus/liliEmployee Referral Bonus/lili15% Carhart Discount for all employees-NY only/li/ulh3Equal Opportunity Employer Statement/h3pCarver Companies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
