We work with every part of The Walt Disney Company's media portfolio to advance the technological foundation and consumer media touch points serving millions of people around the world.As a Senior Software Engineer on the Build Tooling Infrastructure team at Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology (DEEPT), you will design and develop custom tools and maintain mission-critical infrastructure that enables application teams to deliver software quickly and reliably. Our team manages all aspects of CI tooling for DEET, including version control, CI servers, artifact storage, and cross-environment secrets management. We're seeking a mid-level engineer with a solid foundation in CI/CD processes and tools and a strong desire to grow and learn.Responsibilities:Collaborate with a team of engineers in a shared development processBuild and maintain pipeline libraries that abstract build, release, and deployment events for use across multiple development organizationsPartner with application development teams to identify needs and implement CI/CD best practicesSupport critical deployment systems used organization-wideParticipate in code reviews by providing constructive feedback on pull requestsJoin the on-call rotation to support systems and services during production incidentsAuthor technical proposals and contribute to root cause analysesBasic Qualifications:5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 3 years focused on CI/CD or DevOps infrastructureExtensive hands-on experience administering Jenkins, Vault, Github, etc. and developing complex CI/CD pipelinesProficiency in writing custom build files using Gradle and/or sbtStrong understanding of Docker and familiarity with container orchestration platforms such as Amazon ECS or KubernetesSolid programming experience in Python, Groovy, or JavaDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems and resolve issues efficientlyHands-on experience with AWS infrastructure provisioning using CloudFormationStrong collaboration skills, including experience working effectively with distributed teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThorough understanding of source control concepts and practical experience with GitProven ability to proactively identify and implement improvements in software and toolingBA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experiencePreferred Qualifications:Experience with application performance monitoring tools such as New Relic or DatadogProgramming experience with Java or GoWorking knowledge of GitOps principles and workflowsThe hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA and Glendale, CA is $141,900 to $190,300 per year and in New York, NY and Seattle, WA is $148,700 to $199,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
