Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Empower students by making a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in elementary schools throughout the Moncks Corner, SC area. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work onsite, supporting students with a range of needs—including mild disabilities, autism, multiple severe disabilities, preschool special education, and emotional disturbances—at several elementary locations.

Your role will shape individual learning experiences, promote inclusion, and support growth for students with unique challenges. You'll collaborate with families and staff to develop and implement effective education plans tailored to each caseload, within your area of preference.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction to students with individualized learning requirements
• Develop and implement IEPs in close partnership with families, specialists, and fellow educators
• Maintain accurate documentation and assessment records for all assigned students
• Adapt lessons and classroom environments to accommodate student needs and facilitate learning
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Foster a positive and respectful learning environment for all students
• Serve as an advocate for students and communicate regularly with parents and guardians

Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina Special Education Teacher License (SC SPED)
• K-12 experience preferred, with willingness to specify preferred caseload or focus area
• Strong understanding of special education law, IEP processes, and best teaching practices
• Experience working with a variety of disability categories, including autism, multiple disabilities, and emotional disturbance
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to commit to an onsite, full-time contract from August 5, 2026 to June 4, 2027
