Mechanical Project Engineer – Industrial SystemsThe Mechanical Project Engineer – Industrial Systems is responsible for the design, development, and execution of complex mechanical utility systems, with primary emphasis on boiler systems, steam distribution, hot water systems, and glycol-based process cooling systems.Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager and in coordination with Project Managers, this role provides strong technical support and prepares engineering deliverables within defined scope, schedule, and budget constraints.Industrial Mechanical System Design (Primary Focus)Design and support industrial boiler systems, steam and condensate return systems, hot water heating systems, and glycol-based cooling systemsPerform load calculations, heat transfer analysis, equipment sizing, and pump and piping designPrepare PFDs, P&IDs, system layouts, and equipment specificationsAssist in selecting boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, expansion tanks, controls, and related components, preferredDevelop designs that prioritize reliability, serviceability, energy efficiency, and long-term performanceProject Execution and Technical SupportExecute engineering tasks aligned with project scope, schedule, and budget of systemsPrepare and review equipment specifications and vendor submittals of systemsProvide technical problem-solving and design recommendationsSupport commissioning, field testing, troubleshooting, and installation activitiesCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teamsQuality, Compliance, and Continuous ImprovementEnsure compliance with ASME, NFPA, and applicable mechanical and industrial standardsIdentify opportunities to improve engineering standards and workflowsMaintain accurate documentation and revision controlQualificationsEducation & ExperienceDegree in Mechanical Engineering requiredExperience in designing industrial boiler systems, steam/hydronic systems, or glycol cooling systemsExperience in industrial or manufacturing environments preferredEIT certification preferred; PE license is a plusTechnical SkillsStrong understanding of steam generation, hydronic heating, and glycol-based systemsExperience with AutoCADAbility to develop and review PFDs and P&IDsProficiency in Microsoft Office toolsSoft SkillsStrong problem-solving and engineering judgmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectivelyAll qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
