Compliance Specialist

Compliance SpecialistAt DAVIS, we're redefining the way people experience construction by building success for all.The Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing compliance and payroll processes for construction projects, ensuring trade partner adherence to regulatory and wage requirements. Oversees project setup, compliance tracking, and reporting, while identifying and resolving non-compliance issues. Provides education, mentoring, and onboarding for trade partners and project teams, and collaborates with internal departments to maintain accurate records, mitigate risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experienceExperience with compliance tracking, payroll audits, or regulatory reporting in construction or related industriesProficiency in compliance software for data management and reportingUnderstanding of wage compliance, socio-economic programs, and trade partner regulationsExcellent communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and manage trade partners and project teamsAbility to analyze data, identify issues, interpret compliance requirements, and implement corrective actions with attention to detailPersistence and professionalism in managing challenging or non-compliant trade partnersExperience coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate recordkeepingKnowledge of construction compliance requirements such as prevailing wage, Davis-Bacon, and certified payrollTechnical Job Knowledge:Compliance ManagementSet up project accounts, invite trade partners, and track weekly compliance through LCP Tracker and/or other compliance softwareEnsure posting requirements and regulatory standards are consistently metIdentify non-compliance issues, determine remedies, and maintain accurate recordkeepingCollaborate with the legal department on compliance discrepancies, regulatory updates, and contract languagePayroll Reporting + Workforce DevelopmentReceive, review, and audit weekly payroll reports from trade partners, communicating discrepancies to relevant stakeholdersCoordinate with clients and trade partners to submit initial, periodic, and final compliance reportsGenerate quarterly reports for relevant compliance requirements and assist teams with analyzing trade partner inclusion/exclusion for compliance requirementsUtilize Excel and other tools to maintain data accuracy for weekly and periodic reportingReviews owner's contract language to determine good-faith efforts and/or workforce development requirementsAttend industry events such as trade partner fairs, hiring events, and educational coursesRisk Management & Problem SolvingManage delinquent or challenging trade partners with persistence and professionalismLead project Compliance Kickoff Meetings and provide guidance to project teams to mitigate risksEducation & MentoringDevelop and present wage compliance and socio-economic education programsMentor and educate trade partners, project team members, and department colleagues on compliance regulations and project requirementsParticipate in onboarding new trade partners and communication of wage assurance expectationsCollaboration & Team SupportAssist project teams in interpreting compliance requirements and ensuring trade partner adherenceServe as a point of contact for compliance questions and guidance across departmentsEnsures the project team is aware of relevant wage scales, jurisdictional compliance requirements, and contract language supports the project's needsCore Competencies for the Role:Autonomy + AccountabilityUses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problemsReceives instruction, guidance, and direction from othersAccountable for work within own role only, but work completed impacts team and/or projectsBusiness ImpactImpacts own team and adjacent teamsUses discretion to make improvements to existing processes and solutions to achieve results or improve efficiencyAssists in basic business development tasksTalent DevelopmentActs as a resource for team members with less experienceMay lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirementsProblem Solving + ResiliencyRecognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in own work project/department with minimal oversightEvaluates and selects solutions from established options and employs creativity to develop new options for considerationDAVIS Core Values:TRUSTExcellence in Service – Fulfilling our clients' highest expectationsInclusion – Ensuring a culture of respect and acceptance, where all employees have a sense of purpose and belongingIntegrity – Exhibiting honesty and fairness while holding ourselves accountable for our actionsBuilding Relationships – Creating and maintaining strong partnerships through leadership, creative solutions, and hard workThe base salary (or hourly) range for this position is $74,500.00 - $95,000.00DAVIS is committed to providing our employees with a competitive total compensation package that enhances your quality of life.
