Associate Attorney – Fort Lauderdale

The Cook Group is seeking an Associate to join our growing Florida office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build a successful litigation career while working alongside experienced trial attorneys in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing defense files from inception through resolution
• Developing effective defense strategies
• Preparing pleadings, motions, and written discovery
• Conducting and defending depositions
• Preparing and arguing motions
• Communicating regularly with clients and insurance carriers
• Assisting with trial preparation and courtroom proceedings

• Product Liability
• Toxic Tort
• Commercial Litigation
• Property & Casualty
• General Liability

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment. They are receptive to feedback, eager to learn, and committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Requirements include:

• Admission to the Florida Bar
• 1–5 years of litigation experience (defense litigation preferred)
• Excellent academic credentials
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Outstanding communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
