Veterinary Assistant

Forest Valley Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile assistant who enjoys variety in their day and wants to continue utilizing and developing a well-rounded skillset across patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures. In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
• Monitoring anesthesia and supporting patient recovery as directed by the veterinary team
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $19 - $23 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position with a 5/8 or 4/10 schedule and availability required on Saturdays.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 1+ years of veterinary assistant experience is required
• Proficiency in the following skills:
• Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
• Venipuncture and administering injections
• Radiology positioning and safety protocols
• Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
• Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
• Candidates should be comfortable participating in compassionate end-of-life and aftercare support, including operation of our on-site cremation equipment.
