Your commitment to customer service and quality will be essential as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting plasma center operations. About the Role You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The role works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. You must be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry and provide center‑level support for environmental, health, and safety (EHS). Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions at the facility as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues, donor safety, and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community, as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT‑Paramedic. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Successfully complete FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation and Benefits Summary U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. Actual hourly wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
