Sr. SQL Developer

Job Description An employer is seeking a skilled SQL Developer / Database Administrator (DBA) for an ongoing onsite contract opportunity in the Chicago area. This individual will play a key role in both database development and administration efforts across two strategic initiatives. The first initiative involves a legacy migration project, where the consultant will help transition data, databases, and integrations from legacy platforms into a modern SQL Server environment. The second initiative focuses on the design and implementation of a cloud-based data warehouse, supporting scalable reporting, analytics, and enterprise data management capabilities. This role requires a hands-on professional who can balance SQL development, ETL processes, data modeling, and performance tuning with core DBA responsibilities, including database maintenance, monitoring, backup and recovery, security administration, and environment optimization. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting both on-premises SQL Server environments and cloud-based data platforms.
