Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 Year Preferred License: Active Virginia State or Compact RN License Required Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: - Charge Experience - Proficient in Med/Surg Care - Experience with Use of Rapid Response/Code Teams - Skilled in Peripheral Line Care/Management - Experience with Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive Airway Management, Oxygen Administration, and Isolation Precautions Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty. Shift hours consist of 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Charting experience with an electronic system is required. Weekend work may include every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block. Requests for time off must be submitted with the application. The facility has a call-off policy where they may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks. The nurse will be required to work one holiday during the 13-week contract. First-time travelers are welcome. The unit maintains a patient ratio of 1 nurse for every 6 patients. The unit provides care for adults requiring treatment for elective surgeries, trauma, and other medical conditions. Floating between units within the nurse's skill set may be necessary. The nurse occasionally may be required to work as charge and precept others. All candidates must have the ability to perform tasks associated with this nursing role effectively. Experience in acute care is necessary. Proficiency in specific clinical skills listed is mandatory. Candidates must be able to adhere to the required safety and infection control protocols. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality patient care and optimal outcomes. Interdisciplinary support is available within the unit.
