Cardiology - Heart Failure and Transplant Physician

The AdventHealth Transplant Institute is seeking a dynamic, fellowship-trained advanced heart failure transplant cardiologist to join the heart program in Celebration Florida. The cardiologist would work in an exciting and thriving transplant program with the full AdventHealth healthcare system support (50 hospitals in nine states including 30 in Florida. The physician would have the benefit of cross coverage for advanced heart failure/ transplant call and work with a comprehensive team including surgeons, cardiologists, coordinators, dieticians, pharmacists, therapists and social workers. The Transplant Institute also offers a vibrant and growing Mechanical Circulatory Support Device program as well and a fully developed ECMO program. Our team performs 40-45 hearts and 30-50 mechanical circulatory support devices per year with multi organ transplant capability. We also have a robust cardiogenic shock program with over 250 temporary mechanical circulatory devices implanted per year and state of the art 9900 shock unit. The AdventHealth Transplant Institute is located just outside downtown Orlando close to the charming Winter Park community. In September 2020, AdventHealth Orlando opened a state-of-the-art 32 bed critical care unit dedicated to the cardio thoracic transplant service. Requirements of the position include: Fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Board certification is required in Cardiovascular Disease and in Advanced Heart Failure Ability to perform right and left heart catheterizations and biopsies Interest in inpatient and outpatient Interventional training not required but accepted Practice Description AdventHealth Transplant Institute and AdventHealth Cardiovascular Institute ranks among the top in the United States. AdventHealth Orlando's Ginsburg Tower is a 15-story patient tower with 440 patient beds and our Cardiovascular Institute includes 12 multi-functional procedure suites equipped to perform: Cardiac Surgeries (over 1,200 annually) Vascular Surgeries (over 2,200 annually) Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization Procedures (approx. 5,000 annually) Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Procedures (over 2,500 annually) In addition, the tower also houses our Emergency Department, OR suites, and ICU beds. A new 32 bed critical care unit recently opened dedicated to advanced heart and lung failure and transplant. Liver, Kidney and Pancreas transplants are already performed, and the Heart and Lung program started in 2012. The office site is steps away from the hospital in an adjacent medical office building.
