Environmental Geologist/Engineer/Scientist

EnSafe is accepting applications for a junior-level Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to join our Long Beach, CA office . This position will work onsite, in the Long Beach, CA office. Relocation support may be provided to meet this requirement.

What We Are Looking For

An Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist who is proactive in problem-solving and eager to enhance their technical expertise. The ideal candidate will contribute to various site investigations and assessments under the mentorship of project managers and senior staff, with aspirations to eventually lead teams.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:

• Assist in tasks to support Phase I/II environmental site assessments.
• Assist in the execution of work plans.
• Project coordination.
• Conduct site investigation activities (sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, biota, indoor air, soil gas, and drinking water).
• Provide environmental compliance support to senior regulatory specialists, including data collection for permitting and/or registration; regulatory compliance evaluation and assessment; and preparation of plans and reports.
• Perform oversight of drilling and remediation subcontractors.
• Provide data compilation, database management, statistical evaluation, and modeling.
• Prepare technical reports.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

• Requires a minimum of a BS (MS preferred) in Geology, Engineering, or other Science.
• 0-2 years of experience (previous internships are helpful).
• Professional registration, certification, GID, geotechnical, and/or geophysics experience are a plus.
• Preferred: EIT, PE, PG, and the ability to obtain a PE/PG license in other states.
• Outstanding proficiency in Microsoft programs, including Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Regional travel likely, under 20%.
• Occasional weekend work is required.

The minimum salary for this position in California is $72,384 annually. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including education, related work experience, certifications, skills, and current market conditions.

California Salary Range

$76,628-$82,500 USD
