Job Description:

Woods Lonergan PLLC is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its New York litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a growing, high-caliber practice handling sophisticated federal and state commercial, corporate, and real estate matters.

The Associate will work closely with experienced litigators on complex disputes, gaining substantial responsibility and meaningful courtroom and case-development experience. The right candidate will have the opportunity to contribute strategically, sharpen advocacy skills, and grow alongside a team committed to excellence in high-stakes litigation.

Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of the New York State Bar; and have 2+ years of litigation practice experience. A strong foundation in legal analysis, writing, litigation procedure and discovery is essential.

Scope and Responsibilities:

• Handle and manage various legal matters. including calendaring.
• Drafting and researching a wide array of litigation documents.
• Work on the firm’s ESI database for document review and coding.
• Court conferences and oral arguments.
• Discovery planning and depositions.
• Regular communication with clients, opposing attorneys and the Court.
• Working with senior attorney(s).
• Periodic case reports.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience in complex litigation cases involving commercial, real estate, corporate, matters.
• Admitted to the NY Bar 2+ years.
• Clear writing, research, analytical and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of ESI discovery and document review.

Compensation:

• Salary is commensurate with experience with an approximate starting salary of $125,000 -$165,000 with medical, 401k, profit sharing, and paid vacation.
