Bakery Helper

Location: Jerry's Foods, Edina Reports to: Bakery ManagerClassification: Part Time (Union)Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour, based on experienceHours: Sunday – Saturday, varied hours Responsibilities Make lasting connections with customers. Prepare bakery products including donuts, cakes, and breads. Fill and rotate cases and displays (may involve heavy lifting up to 50 lbs). Assist with receiving products and merchandising to keep shelves full. Help maintain a clean and sanitary store. Work with the team on all tasks necessary to have an awesome department. Arrive promptly for shifts and work as scheduled. Preferred Qualifications Friendly and outgoing; promotes customer service for the entire team. Experience working in a bakery. Knowledge of pastries, breads, ovens, and good food. Completed Food Safety training. Motivated to grow a career and continue learning. Physical Requirements Frequent: lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling over 50 lbs., walking, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, squatting; repetitive motions such as turning and bending. Equipment operation: scanner, scale, label machine, mixer, oven, donut fryer, donut glazer, pan washer, bread slicer, scraper, knives, box cutter, baker rack, pallet jack. Mental: judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, math, basic computer skills. Environmental: extended exposure to varied temperatures and wet surfaces, working with hot grease. Occasional lifting/carrying over 50 lbs.; equipment operation involving calculator, climbing ladders, kneeling.
