Direct Support Professional - Monday‑Friday 4:30–9:30pm (Personal Support) Job Category: Residential Requisition Number: DIREC010302 Posted: April 23, 2026 Part‑Time On‑site Rate: $19.75 USD per hour Location Chimes Maryland, 4814 Seton Drive, Baltimore, MD 21215, USA Primary Job Functions Work in the residence of a person served as personal support, actively engaging and ensuring all programs and activities are carried out for the benefit of the person served. Provide supervision and training to adults with developmental disabilities, promoting growth toward their individual goals. Ensure the home is personalized to each person’s preferences and personality. Teach and instruct people served to perform as many tasks independently as possible per program plans, avoiding personal cell phone use, reading, TV watching, or writing during work time. Communicate with dayprogram staff about individual programs, as requested. Report concerns related to persons served and house operations to the Community Support Manager promptly. Use approved behavior plans and intervention strategies to enhance goal achievement. Act as a positive role model for persons served and agency staff. Assist with independent living skills such as mobility, budgeting, personal hygiene, cleaning, bathing, toileting, nail care, and oral hygiene. Know the whereabouts of persons served at all times during work hours. Meet with the BSS Program Manager or designee for scheduled meetings. Be knowledgeable of emergency medical procedures, CPR, vital signs, positioning, wheelchair use, transfers, assistive devices, splints, dentures, and walkers. Administer medication according to the Physician Medical Order Form (PMOF) and Medication Administration Record (MAR) with three‑way checks. Maintain cleanliness and safety of persons served at home, inside and outside. Aid in the care and maintenance of persons served’s personal belongings, ensuring they are secure. Complete appropriate records and reports, including monthly reports, incident reports, seizure records, activity logs, and fire drill reports. Clean home with the person served as appropriate, handle laundry, and prepare food according to approved menus and special diets. Collect data on persons served progress per agency policy. Transport persons served to appointments, activities, and community outings. Assume financial responsibility for agency and persons served funds, documenting as per policy. Communicate medical concerns to the Registered Nurse and supervisor within the appropriate time frame. Check all rooms at specified times to ensure safety and well‑being. Use approved crisis intervention techniques in emergencies. Know the location of important house records such as fire drills, water temps, medical records, menus, and other files. Attend religious services with the person served. Contribute to a positive, enthusiastic, responsible, and courteous work and home atmosphere. Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Treat persons served with kindness, dignity, and respect. Use technology for specified job duties. Attend work regularly according to assigned schedule and agency policy. Participate in in‑service training, staff meetings, and other professional development activities. Work cooperatively with families, staff, supervisors, administrators, co‑workers, community professionals, customers, neighbors, vendors, and the public. Abide by agency policies and procedures. Assume other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as needed. Secondary Functions Attend team meetings as required. Work cooperatively with agency volunteers to maximize volunteer experience while meeting program needs. Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Specific requirements vary by state. Experience: Commitment to enhancing lives of people with intellectual disabilities. Teamwork ability. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Ability to lift, pull, and push adequate weight—often more than 50 pounds.
