Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Level III NICU Nurse to provide specialized care for neonates and infants in a high-acuity setting. The nurse will be responsible for managing complex patient needs, including surgical cases and various respiratory modalities.

Shift Details

Type: 3x12-Hour Shifts
Days: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM
No call required
Every other weekend scheduled
Floating to pediatrics, PICU, and nursery may be required

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and manage neonates and infants requiring intensive care.
Provide support for various procedures including PICC line insertions, bronchoscopy, and swallow studies.
Administer respiratory support using all respiratory modes including ventilators.
Implement isolation precautions and maintain patient safety protocols.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services.

Qualifications

BLS and NRP certifications required.
Valid California RN License.
Minimum of 1 year of Level III NICU experience.

Patient Care Details

Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants
Daily Census: 23 patients
Number of Beds: 35, with 29 rooms available
Patient Diagnoses: Surgical cases 23 weeks and up, cooling requirements, and complex respiratory issues.

Skills and Expertise

Expertise in dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
Experience in managing feeding methods (bottle, breast, gavage).
Proficient in placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes.
Arterial line management and central line care including UAC and UVC.
Administration of IV vasopressors and surfactants.
Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome management and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP).
