Registered Veterinary Technician

*Duties*

* Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, dentals and diagnostic procedures with animal restraint and handling techniques.
* Perform laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate equipment such as X-ray machines to aid in accurate diagnosis.
* Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following veterinary protocols while maintaining precise records.
* Conduct animal husbandry tasks including feeding, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness to promote optimal health.
* Support pet owners with pet care advice, including dental terminology explanations, pet grooming tips, and basic training guidance.
* Handle animal catheterization, aseptic techniques, and ensure proper animal anatomy knowledge is applied during procedures.
* Manage kennel operations efficiently by monitoring animal behavior, providing dog training assistance, and ensuring proper animal restraint and handling at all times.

*Skills*

* Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal physiology.
* Excellent dog handling skills along with experience in animal restraint and pet care.
* Familiarity with laboratory procedures, surgery procedures, X-ray operation, and veterinary wellness practices.
* Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures related to pet dentistry.
* Ability to perform animal catheterization, aseptic techniques, and maintain sterile environments.
* Experience working with diverse animals including dogs, cats, and other small animals on occasion.

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
