EMS Education Coordinator

EMS Education Coordinator Reports to: Director of EMS Classification: Non‑Exempt Department: EMS JOB SUMMARY: The EMS Education Coordinator is a vital member of the Parker County Hospital District (PCHD) team. This position is responsible for providing instruction for PCHD’s educational programs and overseeing EMS training courses in accordance with an approved EMS training curriculum. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plan, implement, and evaluate PCHD EMS educational offerings. Prepare and deliver instruction at PCHD facilities or off‑site, as needed. Supervise course participants and instructors during instructional sessions. Evaluate learner performance, provide constructive feedback, and develop remediation plans when necessary. Fulfill administrative responsibilities for educational programs, including grade calculation and submission, maintenance of program/course/student records, and preparation and submission of required reports and data. Participate in ongoing professional development activities. Adhere to established PCHD and departmental policies and procedures, as well as relevant quality and safety standards. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a customer service orientation. Ability to adapt curricula to reflect state regulatory requirements, local needs, and national trends. Knowledge of adult learning theory and effective instructional methodologies. Demonstrated teaching and educational facilitation skills. Familiarity with competency‑based education principles and methods. Ability to assess student performance and provide appropriate, timely feedback. Ability to promote critical thinking and problem‑solving among learners. Commitment to maintaining high educational standards. Proficiency in maintaining complete and accurate educational records. Knowledge of EMS educational program accreditation standards and processes.
