Safety Coordinator

Plan, coordinate and implement Southland’s safety, health and environmental protection programs, ensuring compliance with corporate safety standards and industry regulations, and promoting a safe, incident-free work environment for Southland employees Tours andinspectssmaller, less-complexjob sites to ensure compliance with company, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Reportsconcernsto safety management. Ensures health and safety standards are met by coordinating,promotingand conducting various programs and activities related to the safety management system. Documentssafety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures. Provides recommendations for correcting non-compliance issues. Ensures cited issues are corrected withindesignatedtimeframe. Maintainsall site required documentation related to safety issues, including accident reports, inspectionreportsand training logs. Reviews daily job hazard logs andtakes actionas required. Provides emergency response to employees as needed. Documentsinformation for the investigation of accidents and injuries andsubmitsdata to regulatory agencies asrequired. Serves as mentor to less-experienced Safety employees. Assists with development of training materials and coordinates and facilitates employee training as necessary.
