Senior Newsletter Writer Join CNN, a leading digital news organization, as a Senior Newsletter Writer and help shape our flagship daily evening newsletter. Key Responsibilities Write a flagship daily evening newsletter that delves deeply into the most important news of the day, using a conversational yet journalistic tone that upholds CNN’s editorial standards. Collaborate with the senior editor and newsletter team leadership to analyze audience insights and performance data, refining and iterating the newsletter as audience needs evolve. Pitch new features and rubrics regularly to improve editorial quality and deepen audience loyalty. Work with off‑platform and communications stakeholders to promote the newsletter and expose it to new audiences. Write and/or edit additional newsletters as determined by management. Qualifications and Experience 5–7 years of relevant experience, including reporting or writing on a daily deadline and fact‑checking. Strong generalist with excellent news judgment, a lively, engaging writing style, and a continuous stream of ideas. Strategic thinker who can connect daily work to the organization’s larger goals. Creative thinker who can use audience insights to experiment and iterate. Clear communicator and proactive collaborator with a curiosity about audiences’ interests and needs. Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $80,500.00 – $149,500.00 per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards.
