Position Summary The IS Business Automation Senior supports strategic planning, conducts business analysis, and takes ownership of the financial management practices for the Bureau of Information Technology. This position provides advanced‑level professional analysis of workflows, systems, and finances to increase productivity, efficiency, and the resource management of a complex, highly productive information technology (IT) organization. This position also analyzes existing budget practices, supports the development and maturation of existing financial workflows, and performs research to identify technology or other resources to improve outcomes of the bureau projects. The IS Business Automation Senior also serves as a liaison for procurement matters for internal customers and external stakeholders such as vendors, suppliers, or other state agencies. Additionally, the role fulfills statutory Records and Forms Officer responsibilities for the department, maintaining awareness and oversight of records retention and disposition, guiding the maintenance of existing documents, development of new forms, and coordination with other state agencies. The position works closely with staff from all parts of the organization, acting as a resource for records management best practices, forms control, and continued compliance with state and federal standards. Salary Information This position is in schedule‑range (07-34) with an annual salary of $72,800 - $93,600 (or $35 - $45 per hour), plus excellent benefits. A twelve‑month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants must detail having experience in all of the following in order to be considered: Performing business analysis functions (e.g., collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and/or correlating data from a variety of information systems, sources, and/or databases). Generating training materials on policies, procedures, and/or systems and providing training to diverse audiences. Managing and/or optimizing financial transactions/workflows (e.g., expenditure reports, estimates, budgets, internal audits). Developing recommendations for strategies, process improvements and/or planning based on data analysis and stakeholder/business needs. In addition to having experience in all of the above, a well‑qualified applicant will also have experience in at least one of the following: Performing purchasing, procurement, or acquisitions practices (such as liaising with vendors for quotes, obtaining organizational approval, completing purchase lifecycle from initial purchase request through dispatching of purchase order/credit card transaction, and periodic account reconciliation). Working with records as per state and federal law (to include retention, disposition, inventory, compliance activities, etc.).
