Job Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role includes implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and supporting patients in improving independence, functional abilities, and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Implement individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions
- Assist patients with activities focused on improving daily living and functional independence
- Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and adaptive strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
- Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehabilitation
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- SNF/long-term care experience preferred
- Knowledge of current occupational therapy treatment practices
- Familiarity with Net Health electronic documentation system preferred
