Tool and Die Maker

Apply Poka Yoke techniques. Build precision. Own the night. Keep production moving. Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 pm–7:30 am Role snapshot Operate and set up coil-fed transfer and progressive presses to customer specifications. Plan each run for throughput, then continuously monitor and document part quality. Maintain a clean, safe press area and uphold corporate and plant safety standards. Core responsibilities Quality verification using gauges, calipers, operator inspection sheets, quality control plans, and customer notes. Run progressive and transfer dies; adjust feeder heights, air pressure, and job-specific controls. Load/adjust coil; operate overhead crane; park/unpark transfer bars; manually fine-tune transfer fingers. Troubleshoot process/equipment issues quickly and safely. Use basic computer functions to capture production/quality data and support line operation. Read/interpret blueprints, welding symbols, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedures. Apply precision measurement tools; maintain detail orientation and multitasking discipline. Respond effectively to change; model safe work as a condition of employment. Apply GMS system knowledge in daily production. Systems and components you handle Tonnage monitors; P.L.C.'s; die protection device setup; limit switches and sensors. Press mechanics: press, slide, clutch, counterbalances. Feeding: strengtheners, pilot pin, grippers, air valves. Coil box: pinch rollers, chain drive, control box. Conveyor system setup. Die operation proficiency Establish correct start-up for each job. Use setup stop blocks to set shut heights. Set tooling heights/clearances. Set progression, feeder heights, air pressure; confirm all required controls. Apply Poka Yoke techniques. Team expectations Reliable attendance; work the hours needed to perform the role. Work environment & noise Exposure: vibration; proximity to loud, moving mechanical parts. Noise: heavy with high traffic; ear protection required.
