Medical Assistant

Serves as the first point of contact for patient care and is responsible for administrative duties in addition to providing patient care.

Performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments, including computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.

Carries out clinical duties such as discussing symptoms, gathering and entering information into the electronic medical records system, taking vital signs, administering injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site.

Works closely with Physicians and Nurses.

Provides direct patient care within the scope of active certification.

Makes decisions that typically involve interpreting departmental policies and determining appropriate methods for completing assignments.

Works within defined parameters to meet work expectations and quality standards, with some flexibility in prioritizing tasks and managing timelines while operating under minimal direction.

Adheres to established policies and practices that allow for limited interpretation, deviation, and independent discretion.

1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care

Applicable State licensure in field of study (RMA/ CMA)

Current CPR or BLS certification

High School Diploma

Must be a team player with excellent communication skills

Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment
