Senior Manager, Material Program Management

Position Details Location: Tucson, Arizona (1151 E Hermans Rd, BLDG 808). Position Type: Onsite. Security Clearance: Secret – current U.S. government‑issued clearance required; U.S. citizenship mandatory. Salary Range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD. Role Overview Senior Manager, Material Program Management (MPM) in the Standard Missile portfolio supports Production Assurance for the Naval Standard Missile Systems Production (NSMS) area of Naval Power. The role ensures future program success through proposal support, integration of new assemblies and designs, execution of lifetime buys, and strategic investment in the supply base. Responsibilities Work closely with Program Management, IPTs, Engineering, Quality, Production Control and Procurement to develop and execute Material Strategies that meet customer requirements and program objectives. Lead a team of 1–3 people in a matrixed organization. Brief program and customer leadership teams on supply‑chain status, material constraints, risk mitigation, and opportunity capture plans. Support customer proposal activities, including generating Supplier Request for Proposals / Quotes (RFPs/RFQs) and labor basis of estimates (BOEs). Negotiate with suppliers and place purchase orders to meet program cost and schedule objectives. Manage financial aspects such as EV, budgets, targets, working capital, proposals, and material sales forecasts; act as Control Account Manager when required. Own the supplier management process: develop and manage supplier risk/opportunity plans, performance metrics, international issues, make/buy strategy, and Collaborative Agreements. Communicate customer flow‑through requirements (FAR/DFARS, ITAR, offset, public law, quality, warranty, etc.). Lead, develop, and drive favorable performance for team members (1–2 individual contributors) with opportunities for growth. Resolve conflicts within and between organizations and with suppliers. Manage timely and compliant quarterly Estimates At Completion (EACs), including risk and opportunity management. Support MRP scheduling and master data requests. Travel domestically/internationally as required (expected Qualifications – Must Have University degree or equivalent experience; 10+ years of relevant supply‑chain experience or advanced degree with 8+ years of experience. Experience with material requirements planning. Qualifications – Preferred Advanced Microsoft Office skill set. Experience with supply‑chain planning tools (e.g., SAP/PRISM, Kinaxis, MFT, ROMS). Experience with proposals or material estimating. MPM Level 4 or higher certification. PM Level 7 or higher certification. EVMS certification. Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
