Field Reimbursement Specialist

Job Overview Position: Field Reimbursement Specialist (FRS) – responsible for ensuring patient access to specialty medications by educating healthcare providers and resolving access barriers. The role supports reimbursement and coverage issues, navigating pharmacy benefit challenges. Key Responsibilities Educate providers and office staff on access and reimbursement topics using client‑approved resources. Resolve reimbursement and coverage challenges to support patient access to client products. Collaborate with other patient assistance and reimbursement support services. Deliver interactive educational presentations at provider sites. Probe provider processes to identify root causes of access or reimbursement issues. Support and maintain knowledge of payer coverage management, coding, billing, formulary, prior authorization, and appeal processes. Travel Requirements The role requires weekly travel, including potential overnight stays, to healthcare offices within a designated territory covering Georgia, South Carolina, and Eastern North Carolina. Candidates must be able to travel up to 80% of the time. Background and Education High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree or relevant practice‑management experience preferred. Previous experience as Field Reimbursement Manager/Specialist preferred. Experience resolving pharmacy‑benefit access issues in a healthcare setting. Experience with extensive travel. Willingness to obtain a Prior Authorization Certified Specialist (PACS) certification within the first six months of employment. Skills and Abilities Field‑based reimbursement and access support, education, and consultation to key account customers and partners. Understanding of specialty pharmacy dynamics, revenue cycle, formulary, benefit investigations, prior authorization, coding, and appeals processes. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Strong time‑management and planning skills. Location Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of a major airport in the listed location and be willing to travel up to 80% of the time within the territory covering Georgia, South Carolina, and Eastern North Carolina.
