The Farmhouse Eatery Lockport is a new restaurant set to open October 1st of this year, located in Lockport, IL. Our brand is farm-to-table, polished casual, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In your role, you will be responsible for preparing fresh ingredients, cooking delicious dishes, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment. Your culinary expertise and attention to safety standards will ensure every plate served meets our high-quality expectations. Duties

• Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
• Cook food items with precision, ensuring proper temperature and presentation standards are met
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, fryers, and food processors
• Follow food safety protocols and handle ingredients with care to prevent contamination
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
• Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
• Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable
• Proven food preparation and cooking skills within a restaurant or food industry setting
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Knife skills, slicing techniques, and familiarity with recipe adherence
• Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Good communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with kitchen team members
• A "clean as you go" mentality and dedication to high sanitation standards
• Demonstrated ability to maintain high safety standards during production and cleaning tasks
