Entry-Level Electrical Engineer

Job TitleLocations: Champaign, IllinoisPrimary ResponsibilitiesExercise judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.Conceptualize the initial electrical design approach for all project types and has overall responsibility for the electrical engineering work.Knowledgeable in consulting and construction practices to include plan/specifications, design/build, and construction manager roles and responsibilities.Supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with city, state, and county officials and other outside agencies.Resolve a variety of complex problems (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).Serve as liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams.Organize and prepare all electrical construction drawings (single-line diagrams, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate), technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. Also participate in contract bidding/administration and on-site project management.Conduct electrical systems analysis, such as arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies utilizing power system analysis software.Understand power system protection and relaying schemes for electrical distribution systems.Will be required to perform other duties as assigned.Low, Medium & High Voltage DistributionElectrical Equipment Including Substations, Switchgear, and Protective RelayingElectrical Systems Modeling: Arc Flash, Short Circuit & Coordination StudiesElectrical Equipment Maintenance & TestingLighting SystemsEmergency Power SystemsGrounding and Lightning ProtectionQualifications/Requirements Of Mechanical EngineerEducation: 4-Year Electrical Engineering degree required.Experience: Entry level. However, Henneman Engineering is open to considering a diverse range of experience and skill levels.
