About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (06:00 - 19:00); Day 3x12-Hour (11:00 - 23:00) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an Operating Room setting; 1 previous travel assignment required License: Must possess an active DC license prior to start date Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Two years of recent nursing experience within the last seven years - Experience with General OR, Bariatric, ENT, Client, orthopedic, and Urology lines - Experience with Total joints, Spine, Craniotomy, Free flaps, Cyto reduction, Bariatric, and ENT/OMF procedures - Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity - Required to be on call for 6 calls per 6-week schedule - Weekend coverage of 1 weekend shift per 6-week schedule Description: The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The RN will assist with the flow of the Operating Room and ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available during surgeries. The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient care. The position requires strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to maintain a sterile environment. The RN will support patients preoperatively and postoperatively, ensuring they understand their care and recovery plans. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with patients and their families. The RN must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks and respond promptly to surgical needs. Knowledge of current best practices in surgical nursing is necessary. A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development is encouraged.
