Digital Practice Manager

Perkins&Will North Carolina is looking for a Digital Practice Manager to shape the future of digital practice inside one of architecture's most forward‑thinking environments. The right candidate will partner with studio leadership and designers to advance projects and build workflows that accelerate and elevate work at the frontier of how technology is shaping design and the built environment. You will also play an important role in client engagement by spanning business development, presenting digital capabilities, and contributing to digital advisory services that extend our value beyond the project. This role is for someone who sees digital practices as both a creative force and a catalyst for studio‑wide productivity. Years of Experience 7+ years Professional Licensure Preferred Responsibilities Collaborate and report to the studios managing, operational, and design (MOD) leadership. Collaborate with Design Teams to develop project‑specific implementation strategies. Act as ongoing project consultant to ensure success. Ensure quality assurance with project teams to maintain modeling quality and fidelity, adherence to firm wide modeling and information workflows, and continuity of information across applications. Collaborate with Client Engagement Leaders to create new business and/or further existing engagements. Represent and coordinate with the firm wide Digital Practice group to promote local adoption of new technologies, workflows, and practices. Provide Digital Design support to designers. Document and communicate exemplar processes, procedures, practices, and workflows. Structure and conduct continuing education workshops and assists with curriculum development. Mentor and lead the studio design technology leader’s (DTL) community. Participate in firm wide planning, relative to design technology innovation and implementation. Participate in AEC Forums, User Groups, and Conferences demonstrating Perkins&Will’s leadership in AEC technology. Proactively maintain and communicate current knowledge relative to technology through journals, vendor resources, marketing collateral and design community. Proficiencies Experience in all phases of the architectural design process as well as commitment and passion for learning new design application technologies and strategies. Strong communication skills; written, oral, and graphic representation. Experience in application customization through programming and scripting. General aptitude and comfort level with training and technical support, both one‑on‑one and in‑group settings. Working knowledge of Design Visualization, Virtual Reality, Computational Design and Environmental Analysis applications. High‑level of proficiency leveraging Rhino, Revit and Grasshopper in the architectural design process, including the ability to administer, configure, and maintain the application. Software Advanced proficiency using Revit, Rhino and other design technology suite applications. Licensure / Certifications / Education Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. LEED GA within 6 months of hire. Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, or ILFI Living Future Accreditation, preferred.
