Transportation & Safety CoordinatorKids First TOO in Milford is looking for a dependable, organized, and safety-minded Transportation & Safety Coordinator to oversee our transportation operations for The HIVE Before & After School Program.This role is responsible for ensuring our buses are safe, clean, maintained, and operating efficiently while providing safe transportation for students each day. Beyond driving, this position plays an important role in keeping our vehicles and transportation systems running smoothly.For the right person, this position has the opportunity to grow into a full-time leadership support role as our program continues to expand or if they are local with morning driving availability from 7:30-8:45am.ResponsibilitiesTransportationSafely transport children to and from local schoolsDrive afternoon routes Monday–Friday (approximately 1:30–4:30 PM)Opportunity to drive morning routesComplete pre-trip and post-trip inspectionsEnsure all transportation safety procedures are followedMaintain student attendance and transportation recordsCommunicate transportation updates with program leadershipFleet ManagementKeep buses clean inside and outMonitor fuel levels and schedule fuelingSchedule preventative maintenance and repairsCoordinate state inspections, registrations, licensing, and required documentationTrack maintenance records and vehicle service historyIdentify issues before they become larger problemsAdministrative ResponsibilitiesMaintain transportation records and documentationOrganize inspection schedules and compliance paperworkTrack maintenance expensesAssist leadership with transportation planning and logisticsSupport operational projects as assignedWe're Looking For Someone Who IsSafety-first in everything they doDependable and punctualMechanically inclined or comfortable coordinating maintenanceOrganized and detail-orientedCalm under pressurePositive and enjoys working around childrenA strong communicatorTakes pride in keeping things clean and running wellSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyQualificationsMust be 21 years of age with valid driver's license with clean driving recordAbility to meet requirements for transporting childrenExperience driving 15 passenger vehicles preferred (training available)Basic maintenance or mechanical experience preferredPass background check and all licensing requirementsScheduleTypical Schedule:Afternoon Transportation: Monday–Friday, approximately 1:30 PM–4:30 PMAdditional morning driving opportunities availableAdministrative, maintenance, and facility responsibilities completed outside transportation hoursApproximate Hours:20–35 hours per weekWhy Kids First?At Kids First, our mission is simple: To do good things for kids—helping them grow into happy, healthy, responsible adults.
