About This Role

We're looking for a caring and enthusiastic professional to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who's passionate about creating a nurturing environment for young children to grow and develop. You'll be working closely with toddlers and young children, engaging them in play-based learning activities and ensuring their overall well-being. Shifts will typically be Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. We're committed to supporting our staff's professional development and willing to provide training to anyone who's eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of children in our care, consistently monitoring their surroundings to prevent any potential hazards.
• Implement the daily routines and activities in the infant classroom and other classrooms as needed, adhering to our established guidelines.
• Develop and deliver educational activities that cater to the unique needs and abilities of each child, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
• Support children with daily routines such as meals, naps, and personal hygiene, maintaining their dignity and comfort at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment that stimulates children's curiosity and encourages exploration.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, sharing their successes and addressing any concerns they may have.
• Apply effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive and productive learning environment, setting clear expectations and boundaries for children's behavior.
• Provide first aid when necessary and ensure our center's health and safety regulations are met at all times.
• Provide individualized support to children with special needs or developmental challenges, adapting our teaching methods to meet their unique requirements.
• Be flexible and willing to support our team by covering classes or assisting with other duties as needed.
• Support the lead infant teacher as required, sharing their knowledge and expertise to ensure the highest standards of care and education.

Experience

• Familiarity with infant through school-age care practices and early childhood education principles is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a daycare or educational setting is preferred.
• Skills in first aid, classroom management, nannying, babysitting, or special education are highly valued.
• A passion for educating young minds and creating a positive learning environment is crucial for success in this role.
• CDA or degree in ECE or CPL 3 would be preferred, but not necessary.
