Overview: Business Title: In Vivo Biologist II Position Title: Analyst II Division: Consumer Products Services Entity: ATL Location: Indianapolis, IN Reports to: Manager FLSA: Non-exempt Hours Worked: Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned. Position Summary: The In Vivo Biologist II is responsible for supporting multiple animal studies including but not limited to in-vivo animal handling skills, take down, tissue collection, and dosing. Duties and Responsibilities: It is everyone’s responsibility to live out our Values and Absolutes by Shaping a World of Trust while ensuring responsible progress. Demonstrate exceptional ability to assist team members with executing high-quality in vivo studies and record down dosing times, dosing volume, bleeding times, body weights, food consumption and unscheduled events Be able to carry out randomize, blind, formulate, dosing of test compounds to study animals using the following methodologies PO, subcutaneous (SC), intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV), intraperitoneal (IP) Delivers high-quality tissue samples, including plasma, cerebral spinal fluid, and organs including dorsal root ganglion, brain, and other central nervous system structures. Process, label, and deliver samples for analysis internally and externally Conduct or assist in conducting in vivo behavioral studies Accurately report and record test data in electronic notebook or handwritten notebook as needed in a timely manner. Performs testing independently and with limited to no supervision from management. Prepare a variety of equipment for testing using prescribed standards / specifications. Report safety, instrument, and technical issues to the appropriate contacts. Maintain supplies, lab cleanliness, and analytical instrumentation, as required. Prepare stock solutions, and keeping shelves and reagent stocked. Maintain up to date knowledge of current methods and products to be tested. Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures. Perform basic data analysis as assigned. Assist with training. Skills & Proficiencies: Demonstrated proficiency in dosing and handling mice and rats. Able to collect animal plasma, cerebral spinal fluid, and tissues. Written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a group setting, with colleagues and clients Organizational and time management skills Ability to perform multiple tasks Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet or exceed deadlines Individual and Team work ethic Proficiency with Windows, Word & Excel Attention to detail Champions company values including team engagement Ability to present both facts and recommendations effectively Technical problem solving and process improvement skills - Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or closely related field Minimum of two (2) years of experience with molecular biology techniques An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above. Compensation Range: $27.00-$29.00 per hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education, experience, and skillset).
