RN Float Pool Critical Care (ICU), West Penn HospitalWest Penn Hospital's Float Pool are highly trained expert RN's who cover all areas of their specialty and clinical expertise. There is a variety of types of patients we receive and the level of acuity in the departments. This grouping includes the 16-bed Burn unit caring for both adult and pediatric patients as well as the 14-bed Medical ICU caring for sepsis, general, DKA, and respiratory ICU patients, and the 12-bed Surgical ICU caring for general surgical, vascular, bariatric, cardiogenic shock, and obstetrical ICU patients.** This position has a $3.50/hour additional allowance on top of base rate per West Penn CBA.**Qualifications:2 years acute care nursing experience required in ICUCurrent State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).CPR – American Heart AssociationAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart AssociationPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association preferredNIH Stroke certification preferredAct 34 Criminal Background Clearance CertificateAct 33 Child Abuse Clearance CertificateAct 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance CertificateResponsibilities:Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.Disclaimer: The job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this job title.
