Registered Dental Assistant I Part Time Regular FTE 30% MACLAY WELLNESS CENTER, Pacoima, CA, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 5492 $32.41 To $32.41 Hourly Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is responsible for providing the patient with high quality care by performing a variety of office, laboratory, and patient care duties. The RDA assists the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures by preparing patients and handling instruments and materials. The RDA also performs many other tasks including clinical infection control procedures, maintaining, and ordering materials/supplies, cleaning and disinfecting operatories, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, maintaining equipment, taking x‑rays, educating patients and other duties as allowed under the California state law under the licensing of RDA. Reports to: Chief Dental Officer (CDO), Manager of Dental Operations, RDA Business Office Manager Qualifications Registered Dental Assistant license issued by the Dental Board of California. Diploma in Dental Assisting OR High school graduate or General Education Development (GED) Certificate equivalency. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Dental Assistant. Note: Business and Professions Code Section 1752.6 states in part that “A registered dental assistant licensed on and after January 1, 2010, shall provide evidence of successful completion of a board‑approved course in the application of pit and fissure sealants prior to the first expiration date of his or her license that requires the completion of continuing education as a condition of renewal”. Additional Requirements for All Registered Dental Assistants Must maintain a current Cardio‑Pulmonary Resuscitation certification, in compliance with corporate CPR Policy. Computer skills in electronic dental/health record systems, and database systems. Fluency in English (speak, read, and write). Fluency in Spanish (speak, translate, read, and write) is required. Ability to work effectively as a team player. Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment. Basic leadership skills. Ability to work effectively as a team player. Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff. Ability to solve problems and make routine recommendations. Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles. Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under minimal supervision. Self‑starter, reliable and dependable. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served and has knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. He or she is able to identify and categorize each patient’s age specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent, or geriatric patients. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality about health care and other patient/client information. Current California driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC’s insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
