Agronomy Sales Specialist (Austin)

Job DescriptionGeneral Purpose:Generate sales and provide technical support for optimizing crop production on dairy operations. Sell and support all agronomic products offered by DFA Farm Supplies (DFA FS) through direct interactions with DFA Farmer Owners and DFA FS Sales Teams. Identify and develop trusted relationships with DFA Farmer Owners and industry partners in the agronomic arena.Preferred candidate locations are Amarillo TX or Lubbock TX. Could also consider candidates in Denver, CO or Kansas City, KS. Job Duties and Responsibilities:Coordinate with DFA FS Area Sales Managers and Sales Associates on technical agronomy sales visits with DFA Farmer OwnersDevelop consultative relationships with DFA Farmer OwnersDocument all interactions in SalesForce within 24 hoursConsistently schedule visits with DFA Farmer Owner operations to build a working knowledge and expertise of agronomic conditions across the defined area of the U.S.Oversee all aspects of field trials with industry partners and provide analytical feedback for reviewCoordinate, attend, and present at industry trade shows, farm field days, DFA membership meetings, and other events as necessaryUtilize DFS FS marketing resources for targeted outreach and own the process of follow up/follow through with prospectsAdvocate for DFA Farmer Owners’ needs and expectations through deep relationships with DFA teams of Sustainability, Farm Practices and othersThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as requiredJob RequirementsMinimum Requirements:Education and ExperienceBS. in Business Management or Crop Science with a minimum of 5 years’ experience and proven success in direct, on-farm sales and support of agronomic inputs or the equivalent of direct business experienceCertification and/or License – N/A Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWorking knowledge of high value agronomic inputs for cattle feed productionFamiliarity with dairy farms and dairy farming practices of crop productionAble to effectively manage time and organize multiple activities within a large geographic area with minimal supervisionHighly motivated and able to work independentlyAble to manage multiple relationships to coordinate the fulfillment of products and services to DFA Farmer OwnersExcellent communication skills to educate DFA Farmer Owners and industry partners on the benefits of a DFA FS relationshipMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishTravel: 50%-75% (up to 2 weeks per month)An Equal Opportunity Employer including Disabled/VeteransJob DetailsJob Type: Full TimeCategory: Business Services
