Job Description\n TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Louisville, Kentucky.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg\n Discipline: RN\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n \n Simplifi Clinical Interviews\n Unit: 10th Floor Neuro\n Experience Required: 1 year; will accept first time traveler with manager approval\n Certs Required: BLS, NIHSS\n Skills Required: Trach care, vent, bipaps, cpaps, IV's, PICC, central lines, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, drains/tubes, pulmonary patients with trachs, laryngectomies, central line, G-tube/Peg-tube (tube feeds), Patients float off unit for HD and PD, High acuity rehab (needing more acute care experience)\n Floating: Could float within scope of practice here. All staff evenly float; mainly use Float Pool to float. Travelers do not care for peds patients\n Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:\n Thjis unit maily focused on Spinal Cord Injuries\n Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Stroke (CVA), Amputee's, Burns, Pediatric and Multi Trauma\n Travelers not expected to care for peds patients\n Patient Ratios:\n 1:6-7. Typically could up to 7 2-3 times per month\n Support within the Department:\n Phlebotomy, but RNs ultimately responsible\n PCA/CNA: 1:7-8 ratio\n Unit Coordinators (secretaries) 0700-2300\n MDs, NPs, Residents\n PT/OT/ST\n No monitors on unit. Vital sync monitors and hooks up to Oxy net. Centralized area to monitor at night\n Technology/Equipment:\n EMR: Cerner\n IV Pump: Plum 360\n Med dispensing: Omnicell\n Oritentation:\n Monday-Online\n Tuesday-NVCI (In-person)\n Wednesday-Frazier Orientation (In-Person)\n The rest of the hours for the week will be scheduled\n Scheduling:\n Weekend rotation: Every third\n On call? No\n Holiday Expectations: Will be expected to work some holidays. If there are back-to-back holidays in the contract (i.e. Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day) they will be assigned one of the grouping, not both\n Approval of RTO: to go through manager\n Shift times: 0630-1900, 1830-0700\n Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks\n Other Notes:\n Scrub Color: Galaxy Blue\n Parking: Free parking, badge access parking garage\n Unit Culture: Very accepting of travelers.
